Family Pictures

A few months ago my side of the family got our pictures taken up in AF canyon. It is always a treat to get together and do family pictures...wink wink. It was horrible weather that day, but we seemed to sneak in about an hour of pretty good weather and lighting to get some really good photos. My sis-in-law's best friend Kresha took them and we are SO happy with them.

These pictures will always have a special memory to me because after we went home from getting these taken, I took a pregnancy test and found out I was pregnant. I was a little grumpy the whole day because I was so nervous knowing that I was going to be taking a pregnancy test that night and thinking it was going to be negative, the LAST thing I wanted to do is go take family pictures. I had already snapped at my primary kids at church and even a little bit at the primary president(oops). Soooo.....to be honest, all the smiles you see from me in the pictures are fake. :) But thankfully, it was positive and all the smiles didn't turn into frowns. Fun little memory to have and I'm so happy we have these pictures to remember that day by.

I LOVE MY FAMILY!!!

We Just Keep Getting Shocked...

Well, the results are in on the genders of our sweet babies. We are going to have two little girls join our family!! Our reaction to the doctor's news when he was doing the ultrasound was utter shock, and honestly I think shock is an understatement. Two girls was the last combination both Rick and I thought it would be. Our first guess was two boys, then a boy and a girl and very last was two girls! It is so funny how this whole pregnancy has brought complete surprises to Rick and I, first with having TWINS and then with those precious babies being girls! We are so excited and cannot wait to meet our girls in April.

Here I am at almost 18 weeks. I'm still feeling great and energized, no complaints here!

Better Late Than Never - Halloween 2010

Since next week is Thanksgiving, I guess I better post about our Halloween before it gets too late. Every year my mom plans a Halloween party for the Dayton Fam. We all dress up and eat soup, breadsticks and apple cider. It is a fun family tradition we all look forward to every year.

Last minute costumes....Kitty and Gangster

Mike and Ash as Devils

Mom as a Masquerade Lady and Dad as a Rodeo Clown

Kaden and Abby were "Scary Characters"

Barry and Tish as Barry and Tish(BORING!!) :)

Matt and his friend Lance

As always, it was fun!

Best costume of the night went to............

THIS GUY!!! He was working outside until about 5 minutes before the party started and hadn't even planned for his costume. He somehow pulled together some of the ugliest clothes possible in 2 minutes and created a very clever Rodeo Clown costume. Preeetty impressive. We were all laughing hysterically when he walked out. What really amazes me is he actually had these clothes sitting in his wardrobe....hmm???

14 Weeks

Here is my first pregnancy picture at 14 weeks. It is a little weird to be taking pictures displaying a growing gut when for years I've been so used to trying to display the ones that would hide it the most. It is definitely strange having my body change, but Rick keeps telling me I better just get used to it cause it is going to be changing a lot more in the upcoming months:) I love it though, and it is so good to start to see my belly getting larger and know the little ones inside are growing!! My pregnancy has been great so far, I did have a little nausea and food didn't taste great until a few weeks ago but all in all it has been a breeze and I'm loving every second.

News...

Yep....that says PREGNANT!!! So happy to finally announce we are expecting. We have been keeping it secret for so long we are about ready to burst.

Oh yeah....one more little bit of news. We are going from a family of two to a family of four. We are having TWINS!! We are excited/overwhelmed/nervous, but most of all we feel so blessed. We can't wait to bring two sweet spirits into this world and be their parents. So bring on the babies.....ready or not, here they come in April:)

This isn't the best picture..but it was the best the doc could get of both. Baby on the right is showing us their bum and two skinny legs sticking up. Baby on the left is just showing us their head. Love them already:)

Camping

We took advantage of the good weather Utah has FINALLY been having and went camping for Memorial Day. We headed up to Hobble Creek Canyon in Springville with our friends Scott and Dana and had a great time. Of course, I was the only one that froze in the middle of the night...but it was still a good time and can't wait to do much more of it.

Our beautiful tent.

Scott looking like a turtle with a massive shell. There is never a lack of laughs when Scott is around.

The boys cutting down our firewood.....

such lumberjacks.....

Rick even took his shirt off for the occasion:)

Scott and Dana. So cute.

Enjoying the campfire. It got so hot it burnt my lips and they have been chapped for the past 3 days. So worth it though. I love love love campfire.

Dana has a photographic memory for every movie quote in the history of cinema. It sucks big time because I am notorious for forgetting EVERYthing from movies. While she is quoting funny movies and has everyone rolling, I am sitting clueless trying to catch up. She is unbelievable!

Scott, Rick and I burning some bad memories. Nuff said:) It was wonderful!

Anniversary Number Three

I am a day late, but couldn't forget to post that we celebrated our 3rd anniversary yesterday. June 1, 2007 was the day I made the best decision of my life to marry Rick. As some of you know, I did not make it very easy on him during our engagement. I was scared to death of marriage. I put him through a torturous one year long engagement with a few canceled wedding dates in between. If only I would have known then how marriage is not scary, but rather wonderful. I will never forget his face when I walked in the doors at the temple the day we were getting married. He looked so relieved I showed up. I have never regretted my decision since that day. I will never be able to express how grateful I am to him for being patient and sticking by my side. He is my rock, my best friend and the most honorable person I know. I am so proud to be his wife and to have him by my side for eternity.

We wanted to go away for the weekend to celebrate, but we had to be back to church on Sunday so we decided to take a mini trip up to SLC. We went to the temple, went to The Roof for dinner and then Rick surprised me with a night stay at Little America. We had so much fun being together and just relaxing.

Okay, my sappy post is over...I love you Rick!

A Little Lesson of POSITIVITY

My friend sent me this video the other day.... I LOVED it. I have watched it around 10 times, I can't get enough. I think we can all learn a thing or two from this little girl when times are tough.

ENJOY...haha

Florida....

We took a trip to Florida to see Rick's sister Heather and her husband Mike this month. They live in Boca Raton, which is about an hour outside of Miami and it is the most beautiful area. We had so much fun and couldn't have asked for a better time. We fell in love with the beaches, weather, shopping and pretty much everything there. It was so much fun and a nice relaxing break from our day to day lives.

While we were there we went to Miami and went on a boat cruise, went to the Everglades on an airboat and searched for alligators and of course just lounged on the beach (our favorite!!). Thanks to Mike and Heather for being such AMAZING hosts. We love you guys.

I have to add in a funny story about the lady in this picture below. We were at a little burger joint on the beach and we were ordering our food at the bar when this lady started chit chattin with us. Let's just say she was well on her way to being drunk for the day and it was only like 12 in the afternoon. She was soooo funny! She especially liked Rick.....her conversation with him went a little like this, "Wow..................WOW........yeah you are really in shape, you look goooooooood. Seriously, you have a lot of definition......hmm......WOW. How often do you work out?" She didn't hold back! It was hilarious so of course I had to snap a picture of her when she wasn't looking;)

AF Mens Bball Champions

Every year my brother Barry forms a team to play in the AF Mens Basketball League. He has formed a team for the past eight years, but never quite won the championship. For the past three years, Rick has been able to play on the team and it has been so much fun to go watch him play and root my hubby and two brothers along. Well, this year they finally took that CHAMPIONSHIP. I am so proud of them!! Especially for Barry....he stole the ball from the opposing team with only a few seconds left on the clock to seal the win for our team!! I told all the wives that I would put the pictures up that were on my camera, so here you go. GOOD JOB GUYS!!!

Rick is a College Grad

Rick graduated with his Political Science degree in December and I am so proud of him!!! He has waited for this day for so long, and he did it! Because of the holidays, we decided to wait until January to do his party and celebrate. We had a small get together last Saturday with family and friends and it was a great time. It was wonderful to get together with loved ones to honor Rick and all of his hard work at BYU. Rick's parents live in California and were unable to make it to the party, so we are flying Rick out to Cali next week to spend some time with the two people who influenced him and guided him the most during his education. He is so excited to go home for a week and celebrate with his mom and dad!

BYU doesn't do commencement in December, so all the graduates from December have to wait until April to walk and do the whole cap and gown thing. Rick's mom and myself absolutely insisted that Rick walk in commencement, but much to our dismay Rick has opted out and won't be walking. Maybe by some great miracle he will change his mind and put on that cap and gown in April:) I love you Rick and I'm so proud of all of your dedication and hard work throughout the years. Goooooooooooooooodbye BYU!!!!

Mid-January Procrastination

It is mid-January and yes, I am just getting to posting about our holiday season. I guess my New Years resolution of conquering my procrastination habits is a big fat fail. Our holidays were absolutely perfect. We were able to spend a lot of time with family and each other. Since I am so late, I have decided to only post a few pictures, one of us rockin' our Xmas Eve jammies that cute mom gave us and the other two from our wonderful yet bitter cold New Years in Park City. I am sorry I'm so boring, but I promise they are three b-e-a-utiful pictures.

Here's to a wonderful 2010.
