Saturday in Park City

We spent this past Saturday up in Park City.
We wanted to get away for the day and spend some good
time as a family together. The weather has been absolutely
gorgeous and this day was no exception. It was perfect.
We got in plenty of good shopping, eating and together time in.

We started off at the outlets and shopped, shopped, shopped.
Girls are too much fun to shop for.
They were both so good and were smiling for us all day.

At one point, I wanted to go in a store to pick out a few shirts for the girls.
I didn't want to take the stroller in cause it is so big and I was
just going to be a quick second so Rick stayed outside with the babies.
Well...let's just say it was a little longer than a second.
Rick could not believe how long it took me to pick out two little shirts.
I will admit it did take me a long time, but I figure
with his life surrounded by girls he better get used to it now! :)

After shopping we drove up to Park City Main Street to get something to eat and
just walk around a little more.
We love going up to Park City to look around in
the little shops, people watch and enjoy the beautiful mountains.
There was an outside event going on that day so there
were plenty of people out enjoying the beautiful weather.

We decided to not be too daring on our food choice and stuck with pizza.
We went to a little place we have gone to before called Main Street Pizza and Noodle.
They have some amazing pizza! We ate it outside and enjoyed the surroundings and the beautiful sunny day. I love eating outside on summer days! It was so yummy and we definitely stuffed ourselves.

We had such a good time! Wonderful day.
I just love my little family.

The Stroller

The girls and I decided to take the stroller out for a spin
in the nice weather a few nights ago after I got off work.
The stroller is nice and drives really smooth for how large it is.
I get an obscene amount of stares from people with this stroller and the
two car seats attached to it.
Seriously, people look at me like I'm a freak.
At first I was a little paranoid about it but now I don't really pay attention when
people turn their heads when I pass.
The funny thing is they think they are being very sly and think I don't notice,
but really it is SO obvious when they do it. Funny!
I really didn't think twins were that uncommon
so didn't expect all the attention that they receive when we are out.
But for some reason, twins are still quite the phenomenon for some people.

Anyways, we had a grand ol' time on our walk.

......well, I guess two of us had a good time. Clara wasn't so sure;)

Life

Last week I went back to work after my three month long maternity leave.
Ugh...
I love my job, and I am so grateful for it. It has been the biggest blessing
but oh how hard it is to be without my babies.
Not to mention, I'm without my husband too!
Rick works nights from 4pm-1am.
I work 9am-5pm.
Needless to say, we aren't seeing much of each other right now.
When he gets home at night, I am half asleep and get a kiss hello from him.
In the morning, he is half asleep and we kiss each other goodbye.
Life is so hard to balance sometimes.

I was sitting contemplating things last night. We all have the same question: Why is life so tough? Well, there's an easy answer to that.

Bad is easy, Good is hard.
Losing is easy. Winning is hard.
Watching TV is easy. Reading is hard.

Giving advice is easy. Taking advice is hard.
Flab is easy. Muscle is hard.
Stop is easy. Go is hard.

Dirty is easy. Clean is hard.

Take is easy. Give is hard.

Play is easy. Work is hard.

Falling is easy. Getting up is hard.
Spending is easy. Saving is hard.

Eating is easy. Dieting is hard.

Doubt is easy. Faith is hard.

Even though this time is crazy, I need to be grateful.
My WONDERFUL, AMAZING mom is watching my babies
so I don't have to leave them with a sitter.
Also, both Rick and I are employed at good companies that take care of us.
Most of all, we are blessed with a beautiful family and three month
twin girls that both sleep through the night!! Every night.
This time in our life will pass and I know it won't
last forever. We are blessed.

Three Months

The girls are an absolute joy. Everyday we look at them and can't believe they are ours.
Surprising to say, we still have to pinch ourselves at times to think we have two children!
You would think after three months we would be completely used to it.
But it is still surreal some days.
This stage is so fun with all the smiles, interaction and recognition.
Both have found their hands and slobber on them all day long.
Every day brings something new that the girls do and something Rick and I have never experienced. It is such a fun adventure!
The biggest milestone this month was the girls sleeping through the night.
Both girls were right in sync with one another and slept through the night for the first time the night before I had to go back to work. This was a few days before their three month bday.
I like to think they knew that mom was having a hard time going back to work, so they decided to give me a little present.
They are so sweet!
I couldn't be more grateful and it has made my transition back to work much more bearable.
We are loving this stage and trying to soak up every minute.

-Loves to eat and it is starting to show. She is quickly closing the gap on the weight difference between her and her sister. Often she will eat a full bottle and still be really unsettled. We give her a few more ounces and she is content. Those extra ounces of milk are definitely showing and we are loving the chunkiness that took a while to come through.
-Makes us work really hard for her smiles and coos, but when she does it is so worth it. Sweetest thing we've ever seen.
-Sleeps from 10pm to 6am. Eats. Then sleeps for another few hours. Wonderful!
-Her body is not that of a floppy newborn any longer. Bree loves to stiffen her body out
like a board and stand on her legs. She seems to just want to take off running, but her body won't let her quite yet. My prediction is she will be our first to walk.
-Better sleeper at night than during the day. She isn't too fond of long naps, just little cat naps.
-She is still always cracking us up with her array of interesting faces. Her expressions keep us entertained for hours.
-Her eye color is starting to sparkle blue
-We can't get enough of her sweet little face and button nose. We love her so much.

-Man can this girl smile and it is easy to get her there too, so adorable!
-Chubbylicious thighs that we could squeeze all day
-Darker eyes with a small hint of blue. I think they will end up being brown.
-Quite possibly the slowest eating baby I've ever seen. She takes her time and usually falls asleep before she can finish. I have no idea how she is getting so chubby!
-Loves to cuddle. As long as she is being held and snuggled, she is usually content.
-Sleeps from 10pm-6am, eats, then goes back to sleep. Just like her sis.
-Makes the funniest high pitched coos you've ever heard. Funny story...I was in the store the other day returning a few items. The clerk that was helping me was in the worst mood ever! Clara started crying and the clerk looked even more bugged. I got her out of the stroller and held her while I was being helped. She was so happy to be held and started off on her variety of different high pitched coos. The clerk couldn't help but start laughing. I was happy Clara could put a smile on her face!
-Constantly reaching at her face and scratching herself. Every day brings a new scratch on her pretty little face:(

Finally Some Sun

It has been SO long since we have been out in some sunshine!
Rick's sister Cari moved to San Francisco last year and she
came back into town for a few days with her two sweet boys to visit family
and meet Bree and Clara.
We decided to take advantage of the nice weather and get a little pool time in.
It was so nice to be outside and finally get some good weather.

Rick and his two sisters. Cari is pregnant with her third child and just found
out she is having a GIRL!! We are so excited to have more girl babies in the family.

We still don't have swimsuits for the girls, but they were good sports
and just hung out with us in the shade by the pool.

Aunt Heather and Anthony

Rick, Anthony and Clara just hanging out

Bree and Mom

Cousin Anthony was so sweet with the girls. He would just hang out right by their car seats
and make sure their binkys would stay in so they would keep calm. He was so sweet and gentle
with them. He is such a cutie. We miss having him around!
